Keka is one of the most visible HRMS brands in India, and its published pricing page leads with a simple number: ₹9,999 a month. That number is accurate — but it's the starting point of the bill, not the whole of it. Here's what a growing team actually ends up paying, broken down by company size.
What Keka publishes (the starting point)
Keka's three plans, as publicly listed as of August 2026:
- Foundation: ₹9,999/month, flat, bundling up to 100 employees
- Strength: ₹12,999/month, flat, bundling up to 100 employees
- Growth: ₹15,999/month, flat, bundling up to 100 employees
Pricing figures are compiled from Keka's own site and third-party pricing trackers as of August 2026 — SaaS pricing changes, so confirm the current number directly with Keka before budgeting against it.
The costs Keka does not lead with
Three things change the real number once you're past the headline price:
- The 100-employee bundle is flat, not scaled down. A 15-person team and a 95-person team pay the identical ₹9,999/month on Foundation. If you're a small team, you're effectively subsidising the seats you're not using.
- An implementation/setup fee applies on top. Public estimates put this at roughly ₹20,000 (around 2× the monthly base fee) for typical onboarding, migration and configuration — separate from the recurring subscription.
- 18% GST applies to all plans. On Foundation, that's an extra ₹1,799.82/month the headline price doesn't show.
- Employees beyond the 100-seat bundle are billed per head — around ₹90/employee/month extra on Foundation once you cross 100 people.
Real cost at different company sizes
Using Keka's Foundation plan (₹9,999/month base), including 18% GST and the ₹20,000 setup fee amortised over 12 months:
| Employees | Monthly cost (incl. GST + setup) | Effective cost per employee/month |
|---|---|---|
| 25 | ₹13,465 | ₹538.62 |
| 50 | ₹13,465 | ₹269.31 |
| 100 | ₹13,465 | ₹134.65 |
| 200 | ₹24,085 | ₹120.43 |
The pattern that matters: the flat bundle means the per-employee cost is highest exactly where most growing businesses actually are — under 100 people. It only starts looking efficient once you're using most of the bundled seats.
How Keka compares to alternatives
Two other platforms come up constantly in the same conversation:
- greytHR prices on a smaller bundle — roughly ₹2,495/month base for up to 50 users (≈₹50/user/month at full headcount), plus a free tier capped at 25 employees with restricted features.
- Meagle 360 is a flat ₹149/user/month (≈₹175.82 with GST) with no base fee, no bundled-seat minimum, and no separate setup fee — so the per-employee cost stays the same whether you have 15 people or 95.
None of these numbers make one platform universally "cheaper" — it depends entirely on your headcount and which modules you actually need. Run your own numbers against your actual team size rather than the headline price.
Questions to ask any HRMS vendor before you sign
- Is there a minimum seat count or bundled headcount baked into the base price, even if I have fewer employees?
- Is there a separate setup or implementation fee, and what does it actually cover?
- Is GST included in the advertised price, or added on top?
- Are any modules gated behind a higher tier, or is everything included at the plan I'm quoted?
- What happens to the price at renewal — is there a guaranteed rate, or can it change year to year?
